About Me

My name is Fatima Ghadieh (pronounced FAH-tih-ma GHA-dee-eh, where the 'Gh' sounds like a French 'R'). I'm a fourth-year Direct Ph.D. candidate in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto, supervised by Professor Mireille Broucke. My research focuses on continuous-time system identification, driven by a motivation from systems neuroscience to model how the brain learns and identifies systems in real time.

I grew up in Beirut, Lebanon, where I received my B.E. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the American University of Beirut (AUB). Before joining UofT, I was a research intern at EPFL's Adaptive Systems Laboratory, where I collaborated with Professor Ali H. Sayed and Dr. Mert Kayaalp to research multi-agent reinforcement learning.
